Additional FEMA Aid Provided for McClain and Pottawatomie Counties

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved the State’s request for additional public assistance for counties impacted by the April 19 tornadoes and severe storms.

The federal funds may be used to assist municipalities, counties, tribal nations, state agencies, and rural electric cooperatives in McClain and Pottawatomie counties with infrastructure and utility repairs caused by the storms.

Assistance for debris removal and response costs was approved for the two counties last month. Additionally, FEMA Individual Assistance was granted previously for Cleveland, McClain and Pottawatomie counties for damages to homes and businesses related to the storms.
