OEM Training Workshops

OEM's new annual training workshop series will kick off on Thursday, June 11 in Muskogee, with additional locations scheduled each quarter. These workshops will include targeted training sessions with an emphasis on disaster recovery. Anyone with a role in disaster recovery is invited to attend, including emergency managers, municipal and county officials or staff, electric cooperative representatives, floodplain managers, and others.

These programs strengthen response capabilities statewide—supporting agencies in preventing, protecting against, responding to, and recovering from incidents safely and effectively.

New Director Training Requirements

Under Oklahoma Title 63, Section 683.11.B, the statute states that within one (1) year of appointment, emergency management directors shall complete basic emergency management training.

Emergency Management Institute Independent Study Courses offer self-paced courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities and the general public. All are offered free of charge to those who qualify for enrollment.
