Training Requirements
Newly Appointed Oklahoma Emergency Management Directors
Title 63, Section 683.11.B, states that within one (1) year of appointment, emergency management directors shall complete basic emergency management training. The basic training consists of the following courses. All courses can be completed at the student’s pace on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute (EMI) website http://training.fema.gov/IS/crslist.aspx.
- IS 100 (any version) - Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100
- IS 120.a OR IS 120.b OR IS 120.c - An Introduction to Exercises
- IS 200 (any version) - Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
- IS 230.d - Fundamentals of Emergency Management
- IS 235.b OR IS 235.c - Emergency Planning
- IS 240.b - Leadership and Influence
- IS 241.b - Decision Making and Problem Solving
- IS 242.b - Effective Communication
- IS 244.b - Developing and Managing Volunteers
- IS 700 (any version) - An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
- IS 800 (any version) - National Response Framework, an Introduction
