Our future depends on a great plan
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) plans for anything.
To best serve Oklahomans in times of crisis, we must have strategies in place to tackle even the toughest situations.
The State Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) provides a well-thought-out roadmap for meeting the challenges emergencies and disasters bring. OEM not only plans for statewide incidents — we also work closely with cities, counties, and tribal nations to enhance community-specific plans.
But we don’t do it alone. Emergency planning is a shared responsibility. OEM encourages input from state agencies, local and tribal governments, non-governmental organizations, and the people of Oklahoma. Together, we build strong, adaptable plans.
These plans help protect lives and property by preparing for, responding to, and recovering from all types of emergencies. Effective planning reduces the negative impact disasters can have on our communities.
