Individuals, Business Owners May Report Uninsured Ice Storm Damages Online

News Release

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) today made it easier to report uninsured property damage caused by last week’s Ice Storm. Individuals and business owners may now report their damage via the OEM Web site.

Just go to www.oem.ok.gov and click on the Oklahoma Ice Storm Damage Assessment Online Form link. Complete the form and a report will be submitted.

OEM is gathering the information to strengthen the state’s application for federal disaster assistance for individuals and business owners. The damage reports will identify where damage assessment teams need to be sent and help to make the case that many Oklahomans are in need of disaster assistance.

The online form requests the property owner’s name, address, phone number, type damage sustained and the date the damage occurred. Individuals are asked if they have temporary housing expenses, sustained loss of income because their business or place of employment was closed, and whether their vehicle was damaged due to the storm.

Anyone who has already reported damages via the Oklahoma Damage Assessment Hotline, (866) 560-7584, does not need to complete the online report. Information from both sources will be used in compiling the state’s justification to receive additional disaster assistance.

Please note, these damage assessment activities are being completed by Oklahoma emergency management officials. THIS IS NOT A FEMA APPLICATION PROCESS.
