ICE STORM POWER OUTAGE, SHELTER UPDATE
POWER OUTAGES
According to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, 27,936 homes and businesses are without electric service across the state.
Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) reports 25,375 electric cooperative customers are without power. The largest number of electric cooperative outages is reported in Cherokee, Adair and Sequoyah counties. Electric restoration crews report .75 to 1 inch ice accumulation on power lines. Below is a list of affected electric cooperatives, the location of their office and the number of power outages.
Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative (Pocola) – 1
Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (Seminole) – 43
Cookson Hills Electric (Stigler) – 1,656
East Central Oklahoma Electric (Okmulgee) – 2,500
Kiamichi Electric Cooperative (Wilburton) – 1,200
Lake Region Electric Cooperative (Hulbert) – 9,300
Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (Vinita) – 536
Ozarks Electric Cooperative (Fayetteville, Ark.) – 10,044
People’s Electric Cooperative (Ada) – 50
Southeastern Electric Cooperative (Durant) – 45
OG&E reports 2,084 outages across the state, including 1,178 in Caddo. Other outages are reported in Muskogee, Eufaula and Webbers Falls.
AEP-PSO Oklahoma reports 477 outages. Most are in the Wilburton, Stigler area.
SHELTERS AND FEEDING
Shelters are open at the following locations:
Muskogee – First United Methodist Church, 600 E. Okmulgee
Checotah – First Freewill Baptist Church, 713 N. Broadway
Westville – Assembly of God, Hwy. 62 East
Tahlequah – First United Methodist Church, 300 W. Delaware
Eufaula – Eufaula Indian Community Center (Old Skating Rink), 800 Birkes Rd.
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is providing meals for the shelters from their mobile kitchen, located at the Muskogee Fairgrounds. The American Red Cross will pick up the meals and deliver to each of the shelters. Additionally, the Red Cross is working with firefighters in Wainwright to deliver meals to those without power.

The 2-1-1 line is statewide and provides one phone number to call from your home or cell phone where a specialist can assess the caller’s needs and determine what service providers in the area are best equipped to provide assistance. 2-1-1 services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Due to high call volumes, you may receive a busy signal when calling 2-1-1. Should you experience this, please leave a message at the prompt or remain on the line and a specialist will be with you as soon as possible. 2-1-1 Oklahoma consists of 7 call regions operational in all 77 Oklahoma counties.
