STORM DAMAGE REPORTS

Affected counties: Carter, Cleveland, Grady, Grant, Kay, Lincoln, McClain, McIntosh, Noble, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Pottawatomie, Seminole

Injuries

Requests have been made to hospitals and emergency services to report incoming injuries. 

Pottawatomie County – 5 injuries all minor

OU medical center – 2 critical injuries

Oklahoma County – 22 injuries, not critical

Cleveland County – 28 injuries, 8 serious, 20 not critical

Power Outages

Muncipal Electrics Out: Craig, Tecumseh, Wetumka

Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, Cherokee, OK:  500 outages - 60 to 80 poles down, mainly in Alfalfa and Grant counties;

Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, Seminole:  12,500 to 15,000 consumer outages as of 10:00 p.m.  Major damage to transmission system network feeding CVEC substations

Central Rural Electric Cooperative, Stillwater:  14 out - most in Noble County

Cimarron Electric Cooperative, Kingfisher:  less than 100 outages - 10 poles down

Cotton Electric Cooperative, Walters:  177 out - all in Stephens county; less than 25 poles down

Indian Electric Cooperative, Cleveland:  80 out, mainly west of Fairfax; 30 to 35 poles down

Kay Electric Cooperative, Blackwell:  328 out - mainly in Grant and Kay counties; about 200 poles down (three-phase, 4/0 line)

Northeastern Electric Cooperative, Vinita:  255 out - mostly in Delaware and Mayes counties (250 out near Pryor)

Northwestern Electric Cooperative, Woodward:  250 out - less than 25 poles down

Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, Norman:  14,000 out - less than 50 poles down so far

People's Electric Cooperative, Ada:  364 out - most located northeast of Pauls Valley, and north of Coalgate

Rural Electric Cooperative, Lindsay:  260 out - 20 poles down

Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, Anadarko:  12 substations out of service at this time - Pink, Moore, Shawnee, Hazel Dell, West Red Hill, Meeker, Garden Grove, Scissortail,    Prague, Chernicky, Paradigm and Liberty. Also, the WFEC microwave tower near Pink has been destroyed, and OG&E's 345 kV transmission line is lying on top of that structure. (Franklin substation restored at approximately 8:20 p.m.)  WFEC personnel report that the Moore substation should be back on late tonight, and there is a possibility that the Liberty substation could be returned to service overnight as well.

Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative, Stigler: 75 Outages; Most of these outages are in southeastern Muskogee county and northern Sequoyah county.

Total Estimated Outages: 65,387 (not counting municipal electrics) 

Total Number of Poles/Structures Damaged or Destroyed:  More than 500 (preliminary estimate only)

Road Conditions

I-40 East at Choctaw Rd is stopped. Traffic is backed up for at least 3 miles. Westbound traffic is down to 1 lane.

I-35 Southbound at the OK/ Kansas line is now open.

SH 266 in McIntosh County West of Checotah at Lotawatah Rd. is now open.

SH 48 North of SH 22 in Bryan County is closed.

SH48 from Coleman to Kenefic in Ardmore (Carter County) will remain closed until approximately 0700 hours.

Local Damage Reports

Carter County – 5 homes destroyed or damaged; no injuries, no deaths reported.

Cleveland County – Extensive damage to the Eastern portions of the county; Search and rescue and assessments still underway; Travel limited due to downed telephone and power lines.

Grady County – far SE portion of the County – 4 homes, light to moderate damage; 1 mobile home destroyed; numerous barns and outbuildings destroyed or damaged; no injuries, no fatalities.

Kay County – 1 home destroyed; 2 homes heavily damaged. No injuries, no fatalities reported.

Lincoln County – no damage or injuries reported.

McClain County – no injuries, no fatalities; 10 homes damaged and 9 barns damaged or destroyed; Mid-America Vo-Tech sustained in excess of $500K in damage; No electricity in Byers, Rosedale, Purcell, and Wayne; Rural water district 8 – no pump or water processing through tomorrow morning.

McIntosh -  Numerous reports of damage to homes, mobile homes, outbuildings, and semi trailers; 1 minor injury reported; Northern part of the county is without power due to downed power poles.

Noble – 2 homes and 1 barn damaged or destroyed; Paradise Casino reports damage; Several power poles down; 1 semi overturned

Oklahoma County – 40 homes damaged, between 40 and 50 destroyed; 40 businesses destroyed. 46 patients, 2 of which are critical; 2 confirmed fatalities.

Okmulgee – no injuries; many homes with minor damage; Major damage to the marina; 1 business sustained substantial damage.

Seminole County – ¾ of the Seminole Municipal Airport is destroyed; 50 homes damaged; undetermined number of injuries.

Local authorities are continuing to assess damage and conduct searches for survivors
