Severe Weather Event

April 25, 2009 and May 16, 2009

Widespread showers and thunderstorms developed across the state for several days. Additionally, severe thunderstorms developed in parts of the state with seven tornadoes reported, primarily in far northwest Oklahoma and north-central. Damage was reported from the tornadoes and flooding. A long period of rain and severe weather continued after the initial round on April 25th. This included a tornado in Anadarko on May 13, 2009, which caused extensive damage to Western Farmers Electric and damage over 200 structure. The wet weather moved out of the state on the 16th as an unseasonably strong cold front moved through the state.
