The Tribal Advisory Board was seated in 1999 with the passage of Senate Bill 532 which added a new Section 302.2 to Title 69 of the Oklahoma Statutes. The Board consists of nine members, three each appointed by the Governor, the President Pro Tem of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Director of the Department of Transportation in matters of policy and procedure for transportation programs that affect tribal governments and to discuss areas of mutual concern.
