Jonathan Arps
Jonathan Arps was named the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s State Maintenance Engineer in July 2025. In this role, Arps oversees the agency’s Intelligent Transportation System, participates in budget planning for ODOT’s field districts and promotes consistency among agency maintenance crews through the Maintenance Management System. He also provides counsel on personnel matters and represents the department in meetings with state and federal agencies and other stakeholders.
Arps has more than 20 years of experience at ODOT, most recently serving as District Maintenance Engineer at District 1 headquarters in Muskogee. Since joining the department in 2003, he has held a variety of positions including Engineer in Training, inspector, project manager, Bridge and Local Programs Engineer and Resident Engineer. His notable project work includes the I-235 interchange at 36th Street in Oklahoma City and multiple bridge projects over the Cimarron River.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University and was named both District 1 Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year in 2022.
