Together, the resources and mentorship offered through ODOT’s University Design Teams, Summer Engineer Internships, and STEM Outreach help pave a path for students of all ages to become the next generation of transportation engineers in Oklahoma.

Structured for undergraduate engineering students who are seeking hands-on experience over the summer, this program allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real engineering environments and further their understanding of the highway construction industry from the perspective of state government. Returning interns have access to more in-depth activities and will potentially be assigned to ongoing projects they are familiar with.
Oklahoma K-12 teachers now have the opportunity to receive STEM workshop training from ODOT. Through professional development workshops, this program empowers educators with hands-on skills and tools to help them bring transportation STEM lessons to their classrooms.
