Description

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing improvements to SH-80 from 0.85 mile south of junction SH-80/SH-51, north 0.5 mile (on new alignment) near the town of Hulbert in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. The existing segment of SH-80 has deteriorating pavement, no shoulders, and goes through the Town of Hulbert to connect to SH-51. The purpose of the proposed improvements is to correct roadway deficiencies, enhance safety, efficiently accommodate traffic, and provide direct connection to SH-51.

A Public Open House was held on February 4, 2020 to inform the public of the three alternatives that were being considered for the proposed improvements and obtain input. Based upon the completed engineering review, public meeting participation and state and federal agency input; ODOT selected a new alignment west of existing S. Wilson Lane as the perferred alternative.
