- Date: April 2nd, 2015
- Time: 6:00 PM
- Location: First Baptist Church
900 E. Broadway St.,
Lexington, OK 73051
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), proposes to correct the structurally deficient bridge on US-77 over the Canadian River & Railroad between Purcell and Lexington in Cleveland and McClain Counties. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The purpose of the project is to provide a safe crossing of the Canadian River and BNSF Railway between Lexington and Purcell.
As part of our efforts to keep the public informed of this project and involved in the decision process, ODOT has scheduled a public meeting. The meeting will present the proposed alternatives for correcting the bridge, including options to preserve the historic bridge in place. Information will include why the improvements are needed, the type of improvements proposed, and the expected impacts to the motorists and the surrounding community. The purpose of this meeting is to present the alternatives to the public and get pubic input to aid ODOT in selecting a preferred alternative to move forward with the completion of the detailed environmental studies, design and construction.
