Jason Boomer was named Project Management Division Engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in September. In that position, he will be charged with overseeing the development of vital transportation projects statewide as well as guiding the annual rebalance of the department’s Eight-Year Construction Work Plan and Four-Year Asset Preservation Plan.

Jason began his career at ODOT in 2021 as a project management division manager for District 3, moving up to assistant division manager before stepping into his current role. Major projects delivered include the I-35 and SH-9W interchangereconstruction, widening US-270 between Seminole and Wewoka and replacing the SH-9 bridge over Bishop Creek.

Past positions include commercial oil and gas management and engineering followed by teaching advanced placement environmental science and chemistry to high schoolstudents.

Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Northeastern Universityin Boston, has a Professional Engineer License in Civil Transportation and a Project Management Professional Certification.

He is a member of the National Puzzlers’ League and in his spare time, he develops and tests prototype board games as part of local board game design group.

Raised in Falmouth, Maine, Jason and his wife, Elizabeth, currently reside in Oklahoma City.
