Notice of Withdrawal from the Alliance for Uniform Hazardous Materials Program
Effective July 1, 2025, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) will withdraw from participation in the Alliance for Uniform Hazardous Materials Program. This decision was made following careful evaluation of operational needs and alignment with our regulatory strategy.
To remain compliant with federal regulations, carriers must continue to maintain:
- A valid Hazmat Registration Number issued by PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration), and
- An EPA ID Number issued by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
If you only transport Hazardous Waste through Oklahoma, you will no longer need an Alliance permit to do so. However, if you transport Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Materials through Michigan, West Virginia, or Nevada, you will still be required to carry a valid Alliance permit for those states.
For assistance with the Alliance for Uniform Hazmat application, please contact the appropriate state directly (Michigan, West Virginia, or Nevada).
If you have questions regarding this change, please contact the OCC Requirements Department at TRRequirements@occ.ok.gov or call 405-521-2251.
