Air Quality Concerns in Ponca City

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is aware of air quality concerns raised by residents in Ponca City. DEQ is committed to providing responsive customer service and keeping the public informed about actions taken within the agency’s authority.

DEQ staff have conducted inspections in the area and responded to citizen complaints. To ensure residents have access to information, links to available documents, reports, and related materials are provided on this page. As new documents become finalized, they will be added to this site.

Inspections

The Compliance/Enforcement group in DEQ’s Air Quality Division is responsible for inspections of air pollution sources, response to citizens’ complaints, observation and evaluation of emission tests, and evaluation of excess emissions. Staff conduct routine inspections of facilities that are required to meet various federal and state requirements, depending upon the facility type and operations.

Complaints

DEQ’s complaints program is designed to address citizens’ environmental complaints with the goal of providing rapid response. The program includes an investigation process and continuous involvement with each citizen who files a complaint. Complaints staff maintain a 24-hour hotline, available seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Complaints can also be filed online. When a complaint is received, agency staff are required to respond within established timelines to investigate the issue and work toward resolution.
