Regulated Air Pollutants

Pollutants Regulated by Statute, Rule, or Regulation

Emissions of Oklahoma Regulated Air Pollutants (RAPs) must be reported in emissions inventories. Included in the list of RAPs below are:

  • 188 federally regulated Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) consisting of compounds and compound groups.
  • 21 toxic compounds and compounds groups, as listed in Appendix O of OAC 252:100.
  • Other air pollutants, contained within Appendix P of OAC 252:100, that are regulated by a State or Federal rule or regulation.

Important Notes

  • Criteria pollutants are marked with an asterisk (*).
  • A particular compound group (e.g., Glycol Ethers) can contain many individual compounds
  • Certain pollutants are VOCs or PM, as indicated by a Yes in the “Is a PM” or “Is a VOC” column on the list below. These pollutants should be reported separately as the specific compound and reported as part of the total for the criteria pollutant category. (e.g. Benzene should be reported individually and reported in the VOC emission totals).

If you need further help with determining whether and/or how a particular pollutant should be reported, please contact the Emissions Inventory Section.
