Ambient Air Monitoring

The 2026 Annual Network Plan is available for public review and comment through June 21, 2026. It contains planned changes to the Oklahoma DEQ ambient air monitoring network. Comments should be submitted to the attention of Ryan Biggerstaff, Environmental Programs Manager, Air Quality Division, PO Box 1677, Oklahoma City, OK 73101 or email Ryan Biggerstaff.

The Air Monitoring Section operates a statewide network of ambient (outdoor) air pollution monitors. These monitors serve three primary functions:

  1. To determine compliance with the Clean Air Act’s pollution standards
  2. To inform the public on the state of Oklahoma’s air quality
  3. To monitor areas of special or immediate concern

National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS)

NAAQS Table and Current Highs - a list of each standard and highest monitored values for the current year. These standards define the maximum permissible concentrations for common air pollutants, or criteria pollutants.
