DEQ Environmental Complaints

Agency Complaints and Enforcement System

DEQ's Agency Complaints and Enforcement System (ACES) is the new platform used to receive, process, and track environmental complaints from the public.

This system represents a significant advancement for our agency, with several enhancements:

  • Greater transparency for complainants
  • Increased efficiency in complaint processing and tracking
  • Consolidation of multiple outdated databases into a single, streamlined system

As one of DEQ's highest priorities, the Environmental Complaints Program is a customer-focused process designed to address citizens’ environmental concerns promptly and effectively.

The program's primary goals are to:
    • Respond quickly to each environmental complaint
    • Achieve regulatory compliance through a consistent, structured approach.

Oklahoma DEQ's Environmental Complaints Program is unlike any other state's complaints program in that it establishes specific timelines for communication with complainants within its regulations. The program also features a uniform investigation process, a central repository for all complaint records, and ongoing engagement with each individual who submits a complaint.

Do you have an environmental complaint?

To file a complaint, call the DEQ Environmental Complaints Hotline at (800) 522-0206, or submit your complaint online using the link to our online portal below.

To help us address your concern effectively, please provide as much detail as possible, including when the issue began, when you first noticed the problem, how often it occurs, who may be responsible, and the specific location of the issue. When possible, please include a physical address or detailed driving directions to the complaint site beginning at the nearest major intersection.

If you would like to receive updates concerning your complaint, please provide your name, mailing address, and phone number. This enables our investigators to follow up for additional information and keep you informed of progress. Upon request, your identity and contact information will be kept confidential and protected from public disclosure, unless required by a District Court. To request confidentiality, select “Confidential” in the drop-down box. You may also choose to remain anonymous.

Regardless of the nature of the situation – or whether you provide contact information – DEQ carefully reviews all complaints and appreciates the time you take to share your concerns.
