Led by the General Counsel, our Legal section provides representation on state and federal environmental laws across all DEQ programs. This includes permitting, enforcement, rulemaking, and administrative actions. Its attorneys review permits, draft enforcement documents (e.g. notices of violation, consent orders), support contested cases and hearings, and guide agency staff on compliance, litigation, and policy matters.
