Clean Slate Initiative

What is Clean Slate?

Clean Slate refers to a State initiated process which allows for the expungement of certain eligible criminal history records and does not require a court petition. See 22 O.S. §§ 18b and 19d.  On November 1, 2026, the OSBI launched the expedited clean slate portal.  Visit the Expedited Clean Slate Portal here.

Before you Apply:

Want to learn more about your Oklahoma state criminal history record? You may request an optional OSBI report at chirp.osbi.ok.gov.  Only eligible records/cases will qualify for a Clean Slate Expungement, visit the Expedited Clean Slate Portal here or in the left menu under Clean Slate Initiative for more details.

To be Clean Slate eligible, your record must have the final disposition information (e.g. conviction, dismissal).  If your criminal history is missing information, you can obtain certified copies of your final disposition from the court clerk or the district attorney's office that processed the charge(s) and mail them to the OSBI to update your record.

For more information on updating your record, visit the OSBI's Update Criminal History page here.
