Crime in Oklahoma

The OSBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program and State Incident-Based Reporting System (SIBRS) are part of a nationwide, cooperative statistical effort administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The UCR Program and SIBRS were conceived, developed, and implemented to serve law enforcement as a tool for operational and administrative purposes.

As of 2021, the OSBI no longer accepts UCR data and only accepts data submitted through SIBRS.  Traditionally, the UCR Program collected data for eight Index Crimes, and in contrast, SIBRS collects data for over 60 different offense types.  Additionally, SIBRS data collects more detailed information such as victim/offender demographics, victim-to-offender relationships, drug types, premise types, and property stolen and/or damaged.
