Criminalistics Services Division
Forensic Science Center
Created in 1953, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Criminalistics Services Division provides a multitude of forensic science services to law enforcement agencies operating within Oklahoma. The Division provides services out of two strategically located laboratories throughout our State, with locations in Tahlequah and Edmond, OK. In addition, forensic evidence can be submitted at facilities in McAlester and Lawton and Woodward, OK.
The Forensic Science Center (FSC) in Edmond, a state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot facility, was completed in May 2008. The location of the FSC allows us to partner with professors and students in the Forensic Science program at the University of Central Oklahoma. This partnership creates opportunities for continued training of our scientists by members of academia, education of students by our forensic professionals, extensive research initiatives, consultation between academics and our scientists about unique items of evidence, and internships for students.
