OSBI Navigating Use of Force Training

OSBI will present an overview on use of force instances which aims to familiarize students with state and federal statutes, department of justice interpretations, and 1983 civil actions that relate to use of force. This course aims to familiarize the student with United States of America case law decisions that have been set forth as a guiding precedent for law enforcement officers in both Oklahoma and the United States of America that relate to use of force. This course aims to familiarize the students with the dynamics of a use of force incident from the time and officer begins recognizing the need for force and identify certain factors and how to articulate and report those factors all the way through an incident and investigation that relate to use of force.
