Charlie Curtis

Charles David Curtis, 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, surrounded by family.

Charles was born on March 12, 1954, in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Carl and Cora Sue Curtis. He grew up in Midwest City and went on to graduate from Midwest City HS in 1971. He later graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Zoology. Charles began his teaching career at Del City High School, teaching science, eventually becoming a forensic scientist at the OSBI. He retired from the OSBI as Deputy Director with 31 years of service. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of nature, sense of humor, and unmatched intellect.

Charles is survived by his three children and their families, Christopher David Curtis, his wife, Tiffeney of Arcadia Oklahoma, Darrin Charles Curtis, his wife Lisa, of Paoli, Oklahoma and Timothy Paul Curtis along with his wife April of Roff, Oklahoma. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Amberly Curtis, Kaylynn Montgomery, Allison Ryan, Hannah Curtis, Kinsingtyn Curtis, Payton Curtis and Madisyn DiPrima along with two great grandchildren, Oakleigh Nance and Grayson Montgomery. He is also survived by his sister Tammy and husband Donald Cameron as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Carl M. and Cora Sue Curtis, his sister Karla Stroup and his beloved son Zachary Wayne Curtis.
