Here, you’ll find resources and information about Oklahoma’s World Language Standards, the Seal of Biliteracy, and international partnerships.
Oklahoma Academic Standards for World Languages
The latest World Language standards were adopted in 2021.
World Languages will begin writing new standards in 2027 to be adopted in 2028.

Professional Development
Professional development is available to teachers in their local area, either face-to-face or through videoconference as appropriate. Please use this link to request professional development.
Seal of Biliteracy
Established in September 2020 (70 O.S. § 11-103.2; 201:10-1-16), the Oklahoma Seal of Biliteracy is a credential bestowed by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) to recognize and honor high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English. International Partnerships with Oklahoma State Department of Education
Oklahoma’s international partnerships connect school districts with educators from the following countries:
- France
- Mexico
- Spain
- Taiwan
