Educational Technology
We promote and support the integration of technology into teaching and learning through professional development, policy development, the administration of state and federal funding, and strategic planning.
This page is devoted to supporting Oklahoma teachers and school districts with the successful implementation of education technology. Oklahoma resources include virtual professional development modules and access to instructional communities for professional growth.
AI Guidance for Education
The Oklahoma State Department of Education has released comprehensive guidance aimed at facilitating the responsible and effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in K-12 schools across the state.
The OSDE will provide virtual professional learning opportunities for educators and administrators to learn more about AI in education.
AI Family Guides
The Oklahoma State Department of Education has created user-friendly guides to help families navigate the evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, it is essential for families to understand its potential impact and how to use it responsibly. These printable resources offer valuable information and practical tips on how to support children's understanding and ethical use of AI at home.

2016 Educational Technology Standards
Download the 2016 International Society for Technology in Education Standards for Students, which were adopted by legislation as the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Educational Technology. These standards are intended to be integrated across all content areas as a way to help prepare students to thrive in a constantly evolving technology landscape.
Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was enacted by Congress in 2000 to address concerns about children's access to obscene or harmful content over the Internet. CIPA imposes certain requirements on schools or libraries that receive discounts for Internet access or internal connections through the E-rate program – a program that makes certain communications services and products more affordable for eligible schools and libraries.
High-Quality Instructional Materials for Education Technology
To provide guidance to teachers, schools, and districts as they make decisions about the best high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) for their students, the OSDE now has reviews of PK-12 Technology Education materials.
