Civics Seal

The Civics Seal is a prestigious recognition awarded to students who demonstrate a strong understanding of civic knowledge, engagement, and responsibility. Designed to promote active citizenship and informed participation in democratic processes, the Civics Seal celebrates students who go above and beyond in their study of government, history, and community involvement.

What is the Civics Seal?

Established in the 2024-25 school year (70 O.S. § 11-103.2; 210:10-1-16), the Oklahoma Civics Seal is a credential bestowed by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) to recognize and honor high school students who have attained a high level of civic knowledge and community involvement. The recognition for attaining the Civics Seal becomes part of the high school transcript and recognizes the student’s readiness for career, college and engagement as a global citizen.
