Members of the Oklahoma State Board of Education are responsible for governing and overseeing the state's public school system by setting statewide education policies, adopting rules, approving academic standards, and overseeing school accreditation and teacher certification. The Board manages the Department of Education's budget, ensures compliance with state and federal laws, and holds districts accountable for performance and fiscal integrity. Board members also help shape the strategic direction of public education in Oklahoma.
