Student Development

The Oklahoma State Department of Education Office of Student Development provides a holistic approach to supporting educators and families through comprehensive school counseling, academic advising, college and career readiness, behavioral learning resources, and school-based mental health. We strive to increase access to resources that promote the academic, social, and mental well-being of all students. We resource our schools. We serve our families. We support our students.

Vision

The vision of the Office of Student Development is for all Oklahoma students to be safe, hopeful, supported, and prepared for the future.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Student Development is to provide training, technical assistance, and consultation to school communities that aim to strengthen students' skills to achieve academic and future success.

School-Based Continuum of Care

The Student Development Office supports a coordinated, school-based system of care that helps connect every student to the right support, at the right time, in the right place. Through collaboration among school counselors, school-employed licensed mental health professionals, families, educators, and community partners, this model promotes student wellness, safety, resilience, and success.
