Curriculum Mapping
Purpose Statement: Students should know where they are going, why they are going there, and what is required of them to get there.
Vision Statement: Improved student achievement supported by curriculum mapping - a road map for developing a coherent educational journey guided by professionals collaborating to bring about greater post-secondary success for students.
There is infinitely more to teach than there is time to teach it. However, by prioritizing content at each grade level and ensuring teachers are successfully navigating their instruction using the same "map," schools can maximize student learning and ensure students do not experience fragmented, incoherent or repetitive learning experiences.
The Office of Instruction will assist schools by providing professional development in aligning, or "mapping," district curriculum to the Oklahoma Academic Standards to ensure all students are prepared for post-secondary opportunities.
