Private Security - Security Guard / Private Investigator

The Health Certification Project offers the following written licensure exams for the Council for Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET):

  • Unarmed Security Guard (Phase I & II)
  • Private Investigator (Phase III)
  • Armed Security Guard (Phase IV)
  • Bail Enforcer (Phase V)

Candidates do not need to provide proof of CLEET licensure in prerequisite licensure areas in order to test.  CLEET verifies that candidates meet all licensure requirements prior to issuing licenses.

Testing Fee

  • Security Guard (Armed/Unarmed), Private Investigator - $40.00
  • Bail Enforcer - $50.00

Testing Prerequisites

Required Documentation

  • Certificate of Completion from the training program
  • Valid, current photo identification issued by a government entity within the U.S. (i.e. passport, driver's license, school-issued ID)
  • Candidate must know social security number at time of testing

Note:  Results are provided to CLEET; however, Candidates must still apply for licensure through CLEET
