About Be a Neighbor
Be A Neighbor was created with the idea that Oklahomans want to help other Oklahomans through meaningful, intentional connections.
In 2018, Governor Kevin Stitt was traveling the state and held more than 300 town halls to meet with residents in every community. At these events, Oklahomans would share stories of seeing their neighbor struggle and of the challenge to identify resources to help. Others would come with stories of hope and restoration, giving credit to the neighbor who walked alongside them to overcome the odds. The idea of Be A Neighbor was born.
This unique online platform amplifies the Oklahoma Standard by leveraging the power of technology. Whether you're an individual looking for resources or services in your community or an organization looking to provide those resources or services and gain more visibility, Be A Neighbor can help.
Registration as a Neighbor organization is completely free and use of the site is also free for those seeking community resources.
The state is committed to working with Neighbors to target needs across all 77 counties. When we are working together, we will create a better future for all 4 million Oklahomans.
