1915(c) HCBS Medically Fragile Waiver Amendment effective: 10/01/2021 through 06/30/2023; contingent upon CMS approval
The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) is seeking a waiver amendment of the 1915(c) HCBS Medically Fragile Waiver. The goal of the program is to provide in home services for members ages 19 and above with a medically fragile condition who are Medicaid eligible and who meet skilled nursing or hospital level of care to remain at home or in the residential setting of their choosing while receiving care.
The proposed revisions to the Medically Fragile Waiver will add new language to the existing Private Duty Nursing and Skilled Nursing service definitions to allow osteopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, or physician assistants, working in accordance with State law, to order home health services. Additionally, the waiver amendment includes changing all references of Quality Assurance and Community Living Services (QA/CLS) to Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) along with minor grammatical and punctuation corrections.
