Children First
Children First is a community-based voluntary family resource program for families expecting to have and/or parent their first child.
The program encourages early and continuous prenatal care, the involvement of fathers, grandparents and other supporting groups in parenting.
Qualifications:
- Pregnant woman less than 28 weeks gestation
- Families expecting to deliver and/or parent their first child; and
- Families with little financial or social support
Services
Public Health Nurses provide visits during pregnancy and the first two years of the child's life. They address the developmental needs of mothers, children, and families during pregnancy and early parenthood.
