Josh Anderson Joins OHCA as Chief of Staff

Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma Health Care Authority Chief Executive Officer Clay Bullard has named Josh Anderson chief of staff. He will oversee strategic agency operations and support initiatives that advance OHCA’s mission to improve health outcomes for Oklahomans. Anderson brings a background in law, health policy and regulatory oversight to the position.

“Josh's depth of legal and operational experience will strengthen the agency’s ability to serve providers, partners and members across Oklahoma,” said Bullard, who is also the chief cabinet advisor of health and mental health. “His leadership and understanding of health systems make him an excellent addition to the team.”

Before joining OHCA, Anderson served at the Oklahoma State Department of Health as chief legal and policy officer and interim deputy commissioner for quality assurance and regulatory. In these roles, he oversaw OSDH’s legal, policy and administrative rule teams. These areas provided critical oversight for hospital and long-term care licensure and survey functions, as well as food, water and bedding licensure across the state.

Prior to his state service, Anderson worked as a private practice attorney in insurance defense, focusing on medical malpractice, premise liability, and subrogation.

“I am honored to join the Oklahoma Health Care Authority and look forward to working with our team and partners to build on the agency’s strong foundation of service to Oklahomans,” Anderson said.

Originally from Arizona, Anderson attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2016.
