Gary Beebe Named Administrator of Employee Group Insurance Division 

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma Health Care Authority announces Gary Beebe as the new administrator of the Employee Group Insurance Division (EGID). With more than three decades of dedicated service to EGID and the State of Oklahoma, Beebe brings a wealth of experience, institutional knowledge and a deep commitment to serving Oklahoma’s citizens and public servants. 

Beebe has been a member of the EGID team for 34 years, beginning his career as a temporary employee in the mailroom while attending the University of Central Oklahoma. Over the years, he has held various finance-related roles, including more than 20 years as EGID Controller. Since 2020, he served as Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services and, most recently, as the interim EGID administrator. 

“I am excited to see Gary take on this well-deserved leadership role,” said Ellen Buettner, OHCA Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health and Mental Health Advisor. “Gary’s extensive experience, collaborative leadership style and unwavering dedication to EGID and its mission make him the ideal person to lead the division into the future.” 

Throughout his career, Beebe has focused on fostering a culture of mentorship and collaboration within EGID, a philosophy he credits for his professional growth. 

“My entire career has been with EGID, and it has been a wonderful experience working with co-workers and managers, past and present, who provided great leadership and mentorship that prepared me for this new role,” Beebe said. “I’m grateful and humbled by the opportunity to continue serving the citizens and fellow public servants of Oklahoma as EGID’s administrator.” 

A lifelong Oklahoman, Beebe grew up in Oklahoma City and resides in Norman with his wife. They are the proud parents of two adult children. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, DIY projects, outdoor activities and roller skating.
