Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma Health Care Authority’s Member Advisory Task Force (MATF) received the Family Voices Partnership Award recently in recognition of collaboration to improve healthcare services and policies for children. MATF’s goal is improving the SoonerCare program by receiving input and feedback from members and their families.

“As a member advisory group, we are honored to receive this award,” said Joni Bruce, Facilitator of the MATF and Oklahoma Family Voices Executive Director. “Our role is to advocate for the members who need a voice to represent them when policy changes are being made.”

“MATF members and OHCA staff have worked collaboratively in order to improve healthcare services and policies for children in Oklahoma. Receiving this award from Family Voices acknowledges the work of the MATF and OHCA to further the cause of children and their families in our state, and we are very grateful for that recognition.”

MATF members provide information to OHCA regarding issues which are an important part of the members’ health care needs; educate OHCA staff regarding the needs of consumers to assure services are received in a way preferred by the members; recommend potential changes to current services and/or policies and offer new ideas for services or policies.
