Video: Oklahoma CareerTech opens new Skills Centers facility
Oklahoma CareerTech officially opened a new Skills Centers School System facility in Vinita last week in what Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell called “the definition of a win-win for the state of Oklahoma.”

CareerTech opened the skills center at Northeast Oklahoma Community Corrections Center in 2022, but without a dedicated facility, classes were held in the maintenance and warehouse areas of the correctional center.
Classes in career readiness, welding/fabrication and transportation, distribution and logistics have now been moved into the new facility, which will allow CareerTech to prepare more NOCCC students for employment after their release from the correctional system.
Indian Capital radiology technology program recognized
CollegeTransitions.com named Indian Capital Technology Center’s radiology technology program the second best radiology tech school in the country for 2025.
“This national distinction is a tremendous honor for Indian Capital Technology Center and a testament to the excellence of our radiology technology program,” ICTC Superintendent Tony Pivec told Fox 23 News. “Being rated the second-best radiology tech school in the United States reflects the dedication of our facility, the strength of our clinical partnerships and the hard work of our students. We are incredibly proud of this program and its continued commitment to preparing highly skilled, compassionate health care professionals.”
ICTC was ranked just below the University of Iowa and above the University of Mississippi.

Tulsa Tech, sheriff’s office team up for students
Tulsa Technology Center and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office recently partnered to give high school students information about law enforcement career paths.
Students from East Central, Nathan Hale, Kipp, Crossover Prep and Tulsa Virtual Academy attended the “Dream Out Loud” event held at Tulsa Tech in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The students learned about law enforcement careers and Tulsa Tech’s criminal justice program, which includes a detention officer academy that enables graduates to get jobs with TCSO or any jail in Oklahoma, Sheriff Vic Regalado told Fox 23 News.

CareerTech Success Stories: Tamera Brown, Southern Tech
As a TANF student, Tamera Brown’s dedication to her training, while balancing challenges like relying on public transportation, is a true testament to her commitment to achieving her life goals and a key reason she was named WED Short-Term Student of the Month for November at Southern Technology Center.
Recently, she successfully passed her EKG certification and completed her phlebotomy course, building real, in-demand health care skills that are opening doors for her future.
