Oklahoma CareerTech Hall of Fame nominations open
Oklahoma CareerTech has opened nominations for the next class of inductees into the Oklahoma CareerTech Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honors Oklahomans for extraordinary contributions and leadership roles that advance the broader cause of career and technology education, said Gina Hubbard, Oklahoma CareerTech director of statewide outreach.
“The individuals honored in the Hall of Fame embody the strong foundation upon which our system was established and the exemplary leadership that has advanced our mission to prepare Oklahomans to succeed in the workplace, in education and in life,” she said.

Manufacturing workforce education event set
The Oklahoma CareerTech STEM division is partnering with the Manufacturing Alliance and Ditch Witch to host an educational event to help teachers and administrators better understand the state’s manufacturing workforce needs.
The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Ditch Witch. It will include sessions on new systems and industry trends; discussions about apprenticeships and work-based learning; a panel of industry experts; and a guided tour of Ditch Witch. Lunch will be provided.
The event is free, but registration is required.
Virtual health care career expo planned
Oklahoma health science education students can attend Explore Healthcare: Oklahoma Virtual Career Expo on Sept. 19.
The live Zoom webinar will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and highlight employers and occupations in the health care industry. Come and go access will be available for teachers, ICAP leaders, counselors and administrators.
It is free, but registration is required.
Northeast Tech partnership wins award
The Sequoyah Career Connection Program, a partnership of Northeast Technology Center, Sequoyah Public Schools in Claremore and Claremore Economic Development, has received an Excellence in Economic Development Award from the International Economic Development Council.
The program is an elective course for students in seventh through 12th grades that introduces them to more than 12 industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, health sciences and engineering.
