Indian Capital Tech partners with UTA

Indian Capital Technology Center is partnering with the University of Texas-Arlington as an OSHA host-training site.

ICTC will be able to facilitate UTA training at the tech center’s Muskogee campus for Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. ICTC will also be able to offer several new courses through the authorized trainer program with UTA.

The courses will focus on practical skills and compliance.

Caddo Kiowa Tech opens new truck driving training facility

Caddo Kiowa Technology Center recently held a grand opening for its new truck driving training facility on its Fort Cobb campus.

CKTC has bee providing truck driver training for 34 years, partnering with Western Technology Center in Burns Flat to offer a full-time training site and with other tech centers, including Southwest Tech in Altus, and Great Plains Tech in Lawton, to provide CDL training.

“We are excited to see the new facility on our campus and look forward to expanding our training opportunities across our state,” said Superintendent Jennie Nunn.

Tulsa’s News on 6 talks to CareerTech director

News on 6 in Tulsa talked to Oklahoma CareerTech State Director Brent Haken about the recent study showing that CareerTech’s technology centers, Skills Centers and adult education and family literacy providers have an economic impact of almost $1 billion.

CareerTech helps students prepare for work or more education, Haken told the news channel.

Francis Tuttle students help search for missing tortoise

Students from Francis Tuttle Technology Center are assisting in the search for a missing exotic turtle in Oklahoma City.

The students are putting the skills they’ve learned to use as they use drones to look for the missing pet. Instructor Christopher Guarnera told News 9 that the drones the students were using could see through vegetation.

Pioneer Tech employees work with local artist

Pioneer Technology Center employees worked with a local artist to paint a mural highlighting the tech center’s values of people, innovation, character, learning and economic development.

The mural also showcases each of Pioneer Tech’s partner schools.

“We were thrilled to work with a local artist like Theresa to create such an inspiring piece. The project was a fun and collaborative team-building activity, and we hope the mural reminds every one of the possibilities that begin here at PTC,” Superintendent/CEO Traci Thorpe told Ponca City Now.
