Emma Morris:
Oklahoma Policy Institute appreciates the opportunity to submit a comment on the 2019 SoonerCare Choice Annual Report. A nonprofit, non-partisan think tank, Oklahoma Policy Institute provides research and analysis in support of equitable and fiscally responsible public policies that will ensure prosperity for all Oklahomans through good schools, good jobs, good health, and strong communities. We would like to highlight OHCA’s success in maintaining an efficient, effective SoonerCare Choice program. SoonerCare Choice (the state's medical home model) and the Health Access Networks have served Oklahomans well through internally-provided and community-based care management. The Report emphasizes member satisfaction, high levels of children and youth receiving primary care, better management of chronic conditions, lower emergency room usage, and an overall positive budget outcome. Oklahoma Policy Institute applauds this success and urges the state of Oklahoma to continue providing care in this way.
