Star Chapter Program

This program will occur from SLC 2024 to SLC 2025. Chapters will be awarded at SLC 2025 based on the past program year.

Submission Deadline for SLC 2025: February 19, 2025

Activities can be completed by the chapter as a whole, individual chapter members, or chapter advisers to count towards the program.

• BPA Week Campaign
  BPA week is the second full week in February, National BPA and Oklahoma BPA put out activities to participate in. Local chapters can also plan and host their own activities during this week to showcase BPA at their schools.
  • The new BPA Cares week that occurs in November counts towards the Star Chapter Award for “How did your chapter celebrate BPA week.”

• Non-Competitive Event Contests
  These can be trading pin designs, national anthem singer auditions, t-shirt designs, partner contests, etc.

• OK BPA Recognition Award
  These are awards such as Adviser of the Year, Member of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. These are found on the SLC page and opened for submission when SLC registration opens.

• Adviser and Student Certification Series
  These can be found on the BPA Member Gateway. If you have already completed the ADVISER series in its current format you can use a past completion for this program. Students must complete each year.
  • Due to changes from National BPA, Advisers can watch a minimum of 5 hours of the recorded Adviser Learning Series to meet this requirement for Star Chapter. Attending the live sessions also count. Click to access webinars.

• Additional OK BPA events
  Examples include OKC Dodger’s Day, Thunder Pro Sports Day, Adviser Bootcamp, Curriculum Integration Committee Meetings, BMITE Day at the Capitol, Winner’s Workshop, etc.

• Additional BPA events
  Examples include the nationally hosted Fall Leadership Summit, any National Officer virtual chats, nationally hosted adviser trainings, etc.

• Scholarships
  State and/or National BPA Scholarships will count.
