Special Restrictions | Participants are expected to be able to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift up to 40 pounds,and have correctable vision. Minimal pre-entry competencies of 5.0 on the TABE and mechanical aptitudes testing (or supervisor recommendations) are required. |
Course Description | Components of the program include hands on welding techniques in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and Oxy Fuel cutting competencies, blue print reading, estimation, project management and computer literacy. All students participate in applied academic enrichment coursework for applied literacy, applied mathematics, life skills issues. Students are encouraged to simultaneously strive for their GED by completion of this course of training. |
