Metro Tech names new superintendent
Metro Technology Centers appointed Deputy Superintendent David Martin as the tech center’s next superintendent and CEO.
Martin will become the ninth superintendent on July 1. He succeeds Aaron Collins, who recently announced his resignation.
“I am deeply honored to be selected to serve as Superintendent & CEO of Metro Tech,” Martin said. “This institution has shaped my career and my purpose, and I am committed to ensuring it continues to transform lives through education and workforce opportunity. Together, we will build on our strong foundation, expand access to high-quality programs, and strengthen partnerships that drive economic growth for our community.”

Pontotoc Tech marks progress on construction of new health care wing
Pontotoc Technology Center recently welcomed local business leaders and elected officials to mark progress on the construction of its new health care wing.
The new wing will expand the tech center’s nursing facilities and add classroom space for both high school and adult learners. It was made possible through a $4.5 million federal investment.
“This moment reflects more than a groundbreaking—it represents momentum,” said Superintendent Travis Graham. “We are seeing the direct impact of strategic investment in career and technical education, and the result will be expanded opportunities for students and stronger support for our regional healthcare system.”

Central Tech adds pathway for future educators
Central Technology Center is adding a new teacher prep career program for high school juniors at its Drumright campus in 2026-27.
The program is intended to help students understand the teaching profession and give them classroom experience and the confidence to pursue an education degree. It is designed to strengthen the educator pipeline across Central Tech’s district.
“Central Tech’s teacher prep program is more than a pathway; it’s a launchpad for the next generation of educators. By giving high school students real classroom experience and professional training, we are not only helping them turn their passion into a career, but also addressing Oklahoma’s critical need for more qualified teachers,” said Shane Bruce, Drumright campus director.

CareerTech recognizes Business & Industry Services Certification Program grads
The final session of the 2025-26 CareerTech Business & Industry Services Certification Program wrapped up last week at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center with recognition for participants.
The professional development program is designed for coordinators, managers and directors of business and industry services; workforce and economic development; and adult and career development.
Participants visited tech centers across Oklahoma, participated in hands-on learning experiences and connected with industry partners.
