CareerTech system represented on Top Workplaces list
Three Oklahoma CareerTech technology centers have been named to The Oklahoman Top Workplaces 2025 list.
Indian Capital Technology Center was No. 14 on the midsize business list, and Central Technology Center was No. 17 on that list.
Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center was No. 26 on the small business list.

Indian Capital Tech receives $250,000 grant
Indian Capital Technology Center has received a $250,000 grant from the William Barry Love Foundation.
The grant is intended for scholarships for Muskogee High School and Hilldale High School graduates up to age 25 who are studying CDL and health science programs at the technology center. Recipients will pay only $300 out of pocket for tuition.
The CDL program will receive $100,000, and the health science program will receive $150,000.

CareerTech representatives named to Most Influential Oklahomans list
Jessica Martinez-Brooks, Metro Technology Centers, and Lindel Fields, Oklahoma state superintendent of public instruction and former Tri County Technology Center superintendent, have been named to The Journal Record 50 Most Influential Oklahomans list.
Brooks is senior director of strategic communications and engagement at Metro Tech. She leads initiatives in marketing, communications, wellness, outreach and conference services.
Fields retired from Tri County Tech as superintendent and CEO in 2021 after a 30-year career in education. He was appointed as the Oklahoma state superintendent in October.

ODCTE employees receive awards
Oklahoma CareerTech employees received Spotlight Awards and Rising Star awards during the agency’s fall staff meeting in December.
Receiving awards were Dennis Griffith, instructional support specialist in the Resource Center for CareerTech Advancement; Gary Geralds, residential and commercial electrical instructor at Jim E. Hamilton Skills Center; Peighton Harak, James Gordon, Amy Warner, Gilda Austin, Emily Gedra and Susie McEachern-Lauer of the Health Science Education division; and Tiffiany Peters, administrative assistant in the Family and Consumer Sciences Education division.
