Meridian Tech’s collison repair program gets national attention
Autobody News recently featured Meridian Technology Center’s collision repair program in its national news site.
The story focuses on efforts to revitalize the program with the support of the community. Discussions with high schools, educators and industry experts helped pave the way for an apprenticeship model, according to the article.
The program, which struggled after COVID-19, is now at capacity, and Meridian is looking at expanding.

Tulsa Tech associate superintendent named to Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame
Robert Franklin, Tulsa Technology Center associate superintendent for student affairs, will be inducted into the Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame in November.
Franklin is one of three in this year’s class of inductees.
He joined Tulsa Tech in 2010, coming from Sand Springs Public Schools, where he worked for 29 years.

Lawton hospital, Great Plains Tech work together on simulation center
Comanche County Memorial Hospital recently unveiled its new Simulation Center of Southwest Oklahoma funded by a grant awarded to CCMH and Great Plains Technology Center.
Students and professionals can practice what they are learning in simulated situations without using real patients, Great Plains PM Coordinator Karen Shirey explained to KSWO-TV.
