CareerTech grad shares story of success

Joseph Gordon landed a VxRail customer support job with Dell this year before his high school diploma was even printed.

His secret? Hard work, independent study and the resources and education provided through Oklahoma CareerTech's Moore Norman Technology Center.

For Counselors Only Conference set for March

The 19th annual For Counselors Only Conference will be March 8 at Metro Technology Centers-Springlake Campus in Oklahoma City.

The conference provides counselors the opportunity to connect with each other and focus on effective programs professional advocacy and the tools they need to provide results in school counseling programs.

Registration will open Jan. 12. The call for proposals for breakout sessions will be open until Jan. 20.

Great Plains Tech instructor wins award

Michael Thomason, an automotive instructor at Great Plains Technology Center, was named the Gates Tools for Schools/ASE Instructor of the Year recently.

He was honored at the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence Fall Board of Governors meeting in San Diego, California.

Francis Tuttle Tech students win new tools

Two auto service students at Francis Tuttle Technology Center are starting the year with brand new tools.

Isaac Sirisombath, a Putnam City North High School student, and Michael Van Zandt, a Deer Creek High School graduate, each received the Be-A-Technician Scholarship, which offered them $500 toward their automotive tech education or $1,000 worth of tools.

The scholarship is awarded by Steve Johnson Racing and the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation.
