Medicare Part D

Starting January 1, 2006, everyone with Medicare got prescription drug coverage.

Important features

  • You will be able to choose between at least two plans and pick the plan that is right for you.
  • If you are eligible for SoonerCare (Oklahoma Medicaid), SoonerCare will continue to pay for your other health care costs.
  • If you are eligible for full SoonerCare services, the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) will enroll you in a Medicare prescription drug plan.
  • If SoonerCare helps pay for your Medicare premiums, then you can enroll in a Medicare Part D plan until May 15, 2006. If you do not join a plan by May 15, 2006, CMS will enroll you in a plan.
