Medicare Part D

Starting January 1, 2006, everyone with Medicare got prescription drug coverage.

Medicare prescription drug coverage is available to all People with Medicare. Your next steps depend on the type of coverage you have now.

Important points you need to know about the new Medicare prescription drug coverage:

  • It is available to all People with Medicare.
  • It helps you pay for the prescriptions you need.
  • It pays for brand name and generic drugs.
  • There is extra help for those who need it most.

Important Features

  • You will be able to choose between at least two plans and pick the plan that is right for you.
  • If you are eligible for SoonerCare (Oklahoma Medicaid), SoonerCare will continue to pay for your other health care costs.
  • If you are eligible for full SoonerCare services, the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) will enroll you in a Medicare prescription drug plan.
